UPI Transaction Limit Change: New Rules for Paytm, GPay & PhonePe Users Effective from September 15

The limit for these transactions has been increased…

Under the new rules, the limit per transaction has been increased to Rs 5 lakh in categories like insurance premiums, credit card bill payments and Government e-Marketplace (GeM). In some of these categories, you will be able to transact up to Rs 10 lakh in a day.

No change in these UPI transactions…

There is no change in normal UPI transactions. NPCI has clearly said that this increased limit will be applicable only to specific categories. According to NPCI, the limit for person-to-person transactions will remain the same as before. This means that normal users will be able to transfer a maximum of Rs 1 lakh in a day.

Why were the rules changed?…

According to NPCI, the new rule aims to facilitate large transactions. Now you can not only make small transactions through UPI but also make travel and business payments very easily.

The use of UPI is increasing rapidly in the country…

UPI was initially used only for small transactions. But today UPI has become a very big digital payment platform in the country.

Today, millions of people in the country are using UPI every day for everything from travel to bill payments. With the new limit, it will become even more convenient.
