UPI Lite: Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL) has launched the UPI Lite feature for small value UPI transactions. With this you can make UPI payment even without entering UPI PIN. However, this will be possible only on transactions of less than a specified value.
UPI Lite update: Unified Payment Interface ie UPI has completely changed the way of payment of people in India. In 2022, out of all the digital transactions that took place in India, 52 percent were done through UPI. Talking in terms of rupees, 126 lakh crore rupees were transferred. Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) felt that small UPI payments should be made easier.
In view of this, RBI introduced the UPI Lite feature in September 2022. Now Paytm has also introduced this feature for its users. The special thing about this feature is that you will not have to enter 4 or 6 digit UPI PIN for UPI payment up to Rs.200.

Now passbook will not be filled with small transactions
The special thing about this feature is that now the bank’s passbook will not be sent due to small transactions that happen daily. These transactions will now be visible only in the Paytm balance and history section.
PIN will not have to be entered for payment up to Rs 200
According to Paytm Payments Bank, once loaded, UPI Lite wallet users can do transactions up to Rs 200 without entering a PIN. This will make the payment process easier and faster. Maximum Rs 2000 can be added in UPI Lite 2 times a day. Using this feature, you can make a maximum payment of Rs 4,000 in a day. Currently this feature is not available for all users.
How to activate UPI Lite in Paytm
- First update the Paytm app.
- Now open Paytm app
- After this, tap on Profile on the top left side of the Paytm home page.
- Now click on UPI & Payment Settings and tap on UPI LITE in Other Settings
- After that select the eligible bank account for UPI LITE
- Enter the amount to be added to UPI LITE on the Add Money to Activate UPI LITE page.
- Validate it by entering the UPI PIN. In this way UPI Lite account will be created.
- Once the UPI LITE account is created, you can make further UPI payments without entering your PIN.
