District Excise Officer Subodh Kumar Srivastava informed that there are currently 155 permanent bar license holders in the district. All operators and managers have been instructed to pay special attention to age at their establishments. If any person below 21 years of age is found drinking or being served alcohol, immediate action will be taken against the concerned bar owner.
Complaints of uproar have increased
In fact, in recent times, there have been frequent complaints of underage youth drinking and creating ruckus late at night in pubs and bars in the district. On many occasions, incidents of serving liquor to minors and youth below 21 years of age were also found in birthday parties, marriage anniversaries and other family functions. The license will be revoked
The Excise Department has said that such teenagers or young people coming with their families to pubs and bars will not be given liquor under any circumstances. If such a thing is found, not only will a financial penalty be imposed but action can be taken to cancel the license of the operator and even close the bar.
