According to the survey, in the financial year 2020-21, the first quarter of April to June had the highest unemployment rate of 20.8 percent. This is a period when there was a strict lockdown in the country amid the havoc of Corona. According to the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, the number of unemployed people in a labor force is called unemployment rate.

According to the data, the labor force participation rate among people above 15 years in the quarter ended March 2021 was 47.3 percent across the country, compared to 47.2 percent in its previous quarter ended December 2020. It was 47.8 percent a year ago i.e. in the December 2019 quarter.
