Modi government’s ‘Aviation Reform’, 5 new airports, 6 heliports & 50 new air routes in 100 day plan

In order to increase the reach of air services in more and more areas of the country, the Modi government at the Center has come up with the UDAN scheme, under which air services are being taken to small cities.


New Delhi: In order to increase the reach of air services in more and more areas of the country, the Modi government at the Center has come up with the UDAN scheme, under which air services are being taken to small cities. Going a step ahead in this direction, the government has announced the opening of new airports, heliports and new air routes in the country. This is the new aviation reform of the Modi government.

New airports and heliports to be built in the country

The government has announced that 5 new airports will be built in the country, 6 heliports will be ready and flights will start on 50 new routes. Out of which 30 routes are planned to be started from next month i.e. October itself. On Thursday, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia gave this information while stating the 100-day plan of his ministry. He said that time has been fixed from August 30 to November 30 to complete the scheme.

Airport and heliport will be built here

According to the plan, 5 airports will be built in Keshod in Gujarat, Deoghar in Jharkhand, Gondia and Sindhudurg in Maharashtra besides Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh. Heliports will be built in Shimla, Manali, Mandi and Baddi in Himachal Pradesh besides Haldwani and Almora in Uttarakhand.

Airport to be built in Jewar, UP, investment of 30,000 crores

Jyotiraditya Scindia told that another airport will be built in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. This airport will be an ambitious project not only for Uttar Pradesh, but for the entire country. 30,000 crores will be invested in this. 457 crores is being invested in Dehradun airport of Uttarakhand. A new terminal building will be built there. After this the terminal building will be able to handle 1800 passengers as against 250 passengers at present.


Airport will be built in Kushinagar, will become the focal point of Buddhist circuit
Scindia said that an airport will be built at Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh at a cost of Rs 255 crore. Airbuses like Airbus 321 and Boeing 737 will also be able to land here. Kushinagar will become the focal point of the Buddhist circuit. An airport will be built in Agartala, Tripura at a cost of Rs 490 crore. After investment, its capacity will be 1200 passengers per hour.
