Traffic Rules: Direct challan of Rs. 20,000 being cut on seeing these vehicles, know the rules details

Delhi NCR Traffic Rules: The ban on BS 3 petrol and BS 4 diesel vehicles is being strictly followed in Delhi city. Police is taking strict action against those who drive such vehicles. Till now more than 5800 challans have been issued.



Delhi Traffic Police Challan News: The pollution level in Delhi is still not taking its name. The Air Quality Index (AQI) here remains in the ‘very poor’ category. There is still a layer of haze in the Delhi-NCR region. In such a situation, the administration has imposed many types of strictness. The ban on BS3 petrol and BS4 diesel vehicles is being strictly followed in the city of Delhi. Police is taking strict action against those driving such vehicles. Till now more than 5800 challans have been issued.

Please tell that till November 13, strict curbs have been imposed on the movement of such vehicles to deal with the toxic air quality in Delhi. Delhi Police has issued 5,882 challans for violations till Friday morning. A tweet from the department read, “As part of the ban on BS3 petrol and BS4 diesel vehicles till 13th November to fight pollution, 5882 vehicles stopped/challaned for violations till 6 am on 11.11.2022 Gone.”

Actually, this restriction has been imposed under the third phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Environment Minister Gopal Rai had said, “There will be a ban on BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel four-wheelers in Delhi under Phase III of the Graded Response Action Plan.” Failure to follow this rule is punishable with a fine of Rs 20,000. This is currently applicable till 13 November. However, vehicles employed for emergency services and government or election-related work do not come under the purview of the ban.
