Auto makers have released their sales numbers for the month of July 2022. The latest sales numbers reveal positive growth for the auto manufacturers in the country.



In July 2022, a total of 3,24,650 passenger cars were sold that’s 15 per cent higher compared to the same month last year. In fact, it is 6 per cent more than the June 2022 sales. Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai retain the first and second position in the list of top 10 carmakers in July 2022 –

TOP 10 CAR MAKERS JULY 2022
1. MARUTI SUZUKI

Maruti Suzuki has reported a combined sales of 1,75,916 vehicles in July 2022. The company sold 1,45,666 vehicles in domestic market, while OEM supply and export stands at 9,939 units and 20,331 units respectively. MSIL sold 20,331 units of the Alto & S-Presso in the country, while the compact segment total sales stand at 84,818 units. In the UV segment, Maruti Suzuki sold 23,272 cars. Adding to it, MSIL has also delivered 13,048 units of the Eeco Van in July 2022. In the commercial space, Maruti Suzuki sold 2,816 Super Carry in the domestic market.

2. HYUNDAI
Hyundai has reported a total sale of 63,851 vehicles in July 2022. In the domestic market, MSIL sold 50,500 vehicles in July 2022 as against 48,042 units in the same month last year. The company exported 13,351 vehicles in July, reporting a year-on-year growth of 9.4 percent.

3. TATA MOTORS
Tata Motors retains its 3rd position in the list of top 10 car makers in the country. It manages to increase its sales volume and continuously closing its gap with the Hyundai. The homegrown automaker has reported a massive 57 per cent YoY sales growth in July 2022. The company sold 47,505 vehicles last month compared to 30,185 vehicles in July 2021. The SUV sales contributes to 64 per cent of total Tata sales, reporting a YoY growth of 105 per cent. The company sold 5,293 CNG cars, 11,007 Punch SUVs and 4,022 electric cars in July 2022.

4. MAHINDRA
Mahindra is firmly placed at 4th position in the list of top 10 selling car brands of India. The company has reported a 33 per cent sales growth in the month of July 2022. It recorded a total PV sale of 28,053 in July 2022 as against 21,046 in the same month last year. SUVs sales stand at 27,854, which is 34 per cent higher compared to the July 2021.

5. KIA
The Korean automaker registered a massive 46.66 per cent sales growth in the month of July 2022. The company sold 20,022 vehicles last month as compared to the 15016 vehicles in the same month last year. However, the brand’s MoM sales declined by good 16 per cent. The company had sold 24,000 vehicles in June 2021.

6. TOYOTA
Toyota has reported a massive growth of 50 per cent in July 2022 when compared to its sales in the corresponding period last year. Toyota has announced that it has sold a total of 19,693 units, the highest ever wholesales clocked by the manufacturer in a single month ever since its inception in India. Toyota had sold 13,105 vehicles in July 2021. The company has also registered a MoM sales growth of 19 per cent with 16,500 vehicles sold in June 2022.

7. RENAULT
The French automaker is at 7th position with 2.90% market share. The company has sold 7,128 vehicles in July 2022 as against 9,317 cars in the same month last year. It has reported a YoY sales decline of 27 per cent.

8. HONDA
Japanese automaker, Honda slips to 8th position due to lack of SUVs and new products in the market. The company manages to sell 6,784 vehicles in July 2022 as against 6,055 cars in the same month last year, reporting a YoY sales growth of 12 per cent. However, the brand’s MoM sales declined by 13%.

9. SKODA
Skoda has reported a year-on-year sales growth of 44 per cent. The company sold 4,447 vehicles in July 2022 as against 3,080 vehicles in the same month last year.

10. MG

MG Motor India sold 4,013 vehicles in July 2022, as it reported a YoY sales decline of 5.02 percent. The company had sold 4,225 SUVs in the same month last year.
