Toll in India: Toll plazas are installed at many places in the country. Toll is collected through toll plazas. At the same time, it has been seen many times that many disputes take place at toll plazas and sometimes lack of security is also seen there. Now some guidelines have been issued by the government for toll plazas.

Toll Plaza: People traveling by road also have to pass through toll plazas. At times, disputes are also seen at toll plazas. Meanwhile, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the safety of passengers and toll operators, to reduce disputes and to strengthen security at toll plazas. NHAI gave this information on Monday. Through this SOP, guidelines have been given by the government, through which efforts will also be made to reduce disputes.

Guidelines given

According to an official statement, the detailed SOP provides guidelines for NHAI regional offices to ensure that the toll collecting agencies manage their staff and road users efficiently. As per the SOP, the regional offices will ensure that the toll collection agencies discharge their responsibilities by following the guidelines.

It was told that the toll collection agency will ensure that the toll plaza employees wear the prescribed uniform of NHAI along with name plates. Any incident of violence should be controlled only through toll plaza managers/lane observers who should be wearing body cameras. Record such cases.

‘Peace on the toll’

In case of misbehavior by any passenger, the lane supervisor will intervene and try to resolve the issue amicably, the statement said. NHAI also announced its new initiative ‘Peace on Toll’. Under this, an agreement has been signed with professional psychologists to provide training to toll plaza employees on controlling anger. According to the statement, the first training session took place at Murthal toll plaza in Haryana. Such training sessions will be organized at various toll plazas across the country.
