new Delhi. Low-cost airline SpiceJet is offering Kovid-19 insurance cover for the safety of passengers during the Corona era. SpiceJet passengers can avail insurance cover for corona virus hospitalization by paying a minimum premium of Rs 443. The airline said in a press release, passengers can take an insurance cover ranging from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 3,00,000 by paying a premium of at least Rs. 443 to Rs. 1564 (including GST) annually. Travelers can choose the insurance package according to their needs. This insurance cover will be optional.
SpiceJet has joined hands with Go Digit General Insurance Ltd for insurance cover. Insurance cover will be available under Go Digit’s Digit Illness Group Insurance Policy. The airline said, in this insurance, the hospital expenses and all the expenses before and after the hospitalization will be covered for 30 and 60 days. This cover also includes counseling on tests, medicine and corona virus positives.
There is no restriction on room or ICU rental in this insurance. This means that there is no limit of ICU charge or room rental till the sum assured remains in this insurance. Spyjet will operate 19 more flights under the Vande Bharat Mission in July. This will help evacuate about 4,500 Indians stranded in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman. The airline will operate 19 more flights this month from Ras Al-Khaimah, Jeddah, Dammam, Riyadh and Muscat to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Kozhikode, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Mumbai.
