Tata Small Cap Scheme: Monthly investment of Rs 10,000, will get a profit of ₹ 8.39 lakh, know complete scheme

Often people turn to mutual funds to get the best returns. Equity based mutual funds also live up to this expectation of their investors. Tata Small Cap Fund has also given annual returns of more than 30% to the investors.



New Delhi. Tata Small Cap Fund is an open-ended equity scheme predominantly investing in small-cap stocks. The objective of the scheme is to provide long term capital growth by investing in equity related instruments of small-cap companies. Both Value Research and Morningstar have assigned a 3-Star rating to the fund. The fund was launched on November 12, 2018 and has successfully completed its first four years.

During this period, it has increased the monthly SIP of Rs 10,000 to Rs 8.39 lakh due to the annual return of 30.65 percent. The Nifty SmallCap 250 TRI index has given 4.50 per cent returns in the last one year while the fund has given a return of 16.18 per cent during this period taking a monthly investment of Rs 10,000 to Rs 1.30 lakh.

Better performance in three years

Nifty Smallcap 250 TRI Index has given a return of 29.75 per cent in the last three years while Tata Small Cap Fund has given a return of 34.89 per cent to its investors. During this period, the fund has increased the investment from Rs 3.60 lakh to Rs 5.90 lakh. Since inception, the fund has grown a monthly investment of Rs 10,000 (investment of Rs 4.70 Lakh) to Rs 8.39 Lakh, giving a return of 30.65% as against 25.50% return of Nifty SmallCap 250 TRI Index.

Fund’s AUM

The Fund Manager of Tata Small Cap Fund is Chandraprakash Padiyar, while the Assistant Fund Manager of the Fund is Satish Chandra Mishra. The benchmark of the fund is NIFTY SMALLCAP 250 TRI. The AUM (Assets Under Management) of the fund as on 31st October 2022 is Rs 2664.24 Crore. Its monthly average AUM is Rs 2623.36 crore. The NAV of the fund as on October 31 was Rs 24.7869 for direct options and Rs 22.9871 for regular options. The expense ratio of the fund is 0.29 for Direct Plan and 2.20 for Regular Option.

Where is the investment?

Its money is invested in capital goods, services, financial services, fast moving consumer goods, chemicals, healthcare, automobiles and auto components, consumer durables, consumer services, textiles, construction materials, oil gas and consumable fuels, media, entertainment publishing, and information technology. It is situated in the top sector. The fund has 94.26 per cent exposure to small-cap stocks and 5.74 per cent to mid-cap stocks.
