Stock Market Today: Sensex breaks after touching record high, Nifty also falls

New Delhi:  The last session of the week on the major domestic index Sensex saw significant volatility due to profit-booking pressure. The BSE Sensex opened at an all-time high of 47,026.02 on Friday, but declined after that. At 11:14 am Sensex was trading at 46,774.31 points, down by 116.03 points, or 0.25 per cent. Similarly, NSE Nifty also reached the level of 13,771.45 points in early trade. However, it later saw a decline and at 11:17 am the Nifty was trading at 13,703.45 points, down 37.25 points, or 0.27 per cent.





The stock market closed at the edge on Thursday. The Sensex-Nifty had reached an all-time high. The Sensex was up 223.88 points at the level of 46890.34, while the Nifty was up 58 points at 13740.70.

The stock market opened flat on the previous trading day. The Sensex opened at a low of 46,658.36 with a slight drop of 8.10 points. The Nifty started at the level of 13,683.10, up 0.40 points.

 Stock market rose with new record high, Sensex rises to 47 thousand

In early trade, shares of Hindalco, Wipro, HCL Tech, Infosys and Nestle India opened on the green mark. HDFC, Tata Motors, Itcher Motors, HDFC and M&M started on the red mark.

Talking about sectoral index, today all sectors except Pharma, IT, FMCG and Metal opened on the red mark. These include Finance Services, PSU Bank, Bank, Private Bank, Realty Auto, and Media.
