Seed Grant Scheme 2021: Know, what is the cost of seed and how much will be given
Kharif sowing is going on in full swing in the country.
In many states the work of sowing of Kharif crops is about to be completed and now farmers are weeding the crops, Engaged in other agricultural activities like manure and irrigation. In the meantime, farmers should get easy and accessible availability of seeds for sowing in the coming Rabi season from the government.
Keeping this in mind, a scheme to give subsidy on seeds has been started. As we all know that after the sowing of Kharif crop, the sowing of Rabi crops starts from the last week of September and first week of October. In view of this, it becomes necessary for the farmers to arrange the seeds of improved varieties of Rabi crops on time. So that good yield can be obtained.
In order to enable the farmers to get the seeds of improved varieties on time, the Bihar government is providing the seeds of Rabi crops on subsidy to the farmers of the state. For this, applications have been invited from the farmers of the state for seeds on subsidy.
Seeds will be made available to farmers at homes
With the aim of providing seeds to the farmers as per their requirement, a scheme to give subsidy on seeds has been started by the state government. Under this, the government will provide certified and hybrid varieties of seeds to the farmers at their homes before sowing the seeds of Rabi crops. Farmers will be given low price seeds, which will reduce the cost of the farmer’s crop and increase the yield
When to apply for subsidy on the seeds of Rabi crops
Online applications have been started for getting seed grant for Rabi crop 2021-22. Under this, seeds of pulses, oilseeds and cereals will be given. Farmers of any district of Bihar should apply from 1st August 2021 to 20th August 2021 to get seed grant on pulses and oilseeds. Along with this, you can apply online from 21 August 2021 to 20 September 2021 to get wheat and maize seeds at subsidized rate.
How much subsidy will be given on the seeds of Rabi crops and the price of the seed
Under the Chief Minister Sharp Seed Extension Scheme and Integrated Seed Village Scheme being run in Bihar, there is a provision to give 50 percent subsidy of the price to the farmers. This subsidy will be made available to the farmers by cutting the seeds. The subsidy amount and seed price on various Rabi crops are as follows.
wheat seed price and grant amount
The certified wheat seed is Rs 38 per kg and the base wheat seed is Rs 40 per kg. A subsidy of 50 percent will be given on seeds of less than 10 years duration and Rs 15 on seeds of more than 10 years duration.
Chana seed price and grant amount
Certified gram seed is Rs 105 per kg and base gram seed is Rs 110 per kg. A subsidy of 50 percent will be given on seeds of less than 10 years duration and Rs 25 on seeds of more than 10 years duration.
Lentil seed price and grant amount
Certified lentil seed is Rs 115 per kg and base lentil seed is Rs 120 per kg. A subsidy of 50 percent will be given on seeds of less than 10 years duration and Rs 25 on seeds of more than 10 years duration.
Pea seed price and subsidy amount
Certified pea seed is priced at Rs 115 per kg. A subsidy of 50 percent will be given on seeds of less than 10 years duration and Rs 25 on seeds of more than 10 years duration.
Price and subsidy amount on rye/mustard seeds
Certified rye/mustard seed is Rs 132 per kg. A subsidy of Rs 40 will be given on seeds of less than 10 years duration and seeds of more than 10 years duration.
Tisi (linseed) seed price and grant amount
Certified linseed (linseed) seeds cost Rs 130 per kg. 50 percent subsidy will be given on seeds of less than 10 years duration and seeds of more than 10 years duration.
maize seed price and grant amount
The seed of hybrid maize is Rs 130 per kg. 50 percent subsidy will be given on seeds of less than 10 years duration and seeds of more than 10 years duration.
Barley seed price and grant amount
Certified barley seed is Rs 40 per kg. 50 percent subsidy will be given on seeds of less than 10 years duration and seeds of more than 10 years duration.
Home delivery of seeds has been arranged, this fee will be charged
Home delivery arrangements have been made to deliver the seeds to the farmers’ homes. The paid seed will be delivered to the homes of the farmers who have selected the option of home delivery in the online application. The farmer will have to pay Rs. 2 for wheat and Rs. 5 per kg for other crops separately on home delivery of seeds on supply of seeds. The crop wise seed application of the farmers will automatically go to the concerned Agriculture Coordinator of the Panchayat. After the selection of eligible applicant farmers, the Agriculture Department will get the seed after paying the remaining amount after deducting the amount of grant by telling OTP on their registered mobile number.
Where to apply for getting seeds on grant
Farmers of Bihar state can apply for the seed of Rabi crops on grant. This application can be applied from mobile, computer or common service center. To get the benefit of the scheme, application can be made by visiting the website of Bihar government https://dbtagriculture.bihar.gov.in or brbn.bihar.gov.in . Keep in mind that to get the benefit of the scheme, it is necessary for the farmer to be registered on the DBT portal beforehand.
