School closure order issued: Keeping in mind the traffic and security arrangements in Badaun district due to the Kanwar Yatra in the month of Sawan, the DM has ordered a holiday in schools. Classes from class 6 to 12 will remain closed from 12, 14, 19-21 July, 26-28 July and 2-4 August.

School closure order issued:  The month of Sawan has started from 11 July. In this holy month of Sawan, devotees of Lord Shiva go on the Kanwar Yatra. To avoid any problem during the Kanwar Yatra in Sawan, the DM of Badaun district has given necessary instructions regarding traffic and security arrangements. Schools have been closed on the instructions of the DM to maintain proper traffic and security arrangements. According to the information, all schools will remain closed every Saturday and Monday. On the orders of the DM, classes from 6th to 12th will remain closed from 14th, 19th to 21 July, 26th to 28th July and 2nd to 4th August. In Varanasi too, orders have been issued to keep schools of all boards closed on July 14.

It will be applicable on every board

Teachers and staff will have to come to school and help in necessary government work. If any examination or program is already scheduled in a school, then it will be extended and a new date will be fixed. District Basic Education Officer Virendra Kumar Singh said that during the month of Shravan, all schools from class 1 to 8 in the district will remain closed every Saturday and Monday. This rule will be applicable to council, recognized, aided and schools affiliated to all boards.

Police made preparations for Kanwar Yatra

SP City Vijayendra Dwivedi said that a 146 km long route has been decided for the Kanwar Yatra, on which strong security arrangements have been made. 366 CCTV cameras have been installed on the entire route and police have been deployed at 35 religious places. Five control rooms and five watch towers have also been built to monitor the journey. The Kanwar area has been divided into six zones and 32 sectors. Apart from this, ‘Kanwar Rakshaks’ have also been deployed in the area to keep an eye on mischievous elements.

Diversion will be done at these places

Due to Kanwar Yatra in Badaun district, the police has changed the route from 8 pm on Friday night to 5 pm on Monday. During this time, Bareilly-Mathura highway has been made one-way and all the cut points have been closed with bamboo sticks. Separate alternative routes have been arranged for heavy and light vehicles, so that people do not face any problem in commuting.
