State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest public sector undertaking, has issued a warning to its customers in this regard. Customers need to be more vigilant as scams have increased not only online but also through ATMs in recent times. As cyber crime is likely to increase during this festival, customers have made several suggestions to keep their bank accounts more secure and secure.

Do not share your card details with
others SBI has asked its customers not to share your mobile OTP (One Time Password), PIN number, debit or credit card CVV number with others. Cybercriminals may call you and ask you to change the password of your ATM card, mobile OTP or CVV number on the back of the card. Also, you may be warned to block your card. SBI said similar scams could lead to more scams.

Do not save your bank account details on the phone
Most people have a habit of saving personal details of their bank account on their phone and taking photos. It is better to stay away from things like this. This is because when you give the phone to others or your phone is stolen, other people can easily know your bank account number, password, ATM card numbers.

Do not share ATM card details Use only your ATM card. Do not share your ATM card details with anyone.

Do not make transactions online with public WiFi Do not make transactions online with
open networks, free Wi-Fi zones. SBI has said that the customer’s personal information will be leaked if transactions are made through these.

The bank will never ask for this information
Remember that no other bank, including SBI, will ever ask for your personal information like your user ID, password, ATM PIN, CVV, OTP, UPI number. Be alert for such calls if someone asks you to call the bank and tell them your bank details.
