Reliance Jio reigns, Airtel and Voda-Idea mobile customers break in large numbers

New Delhi. Reliance Jio, the telecom company of Asia’s richest Mukesh Ambani, continues to flourish and the company has added over 36.5 million new customers in May-20 with the total number of consumers crossing 39 crore and the number one position And strengthened.



According to the latest figures of the Telecom Appropriate Authority of India (TRAI), Reliance Jio added 36 lakh 57 thousand 794 subscribers in May.20 and its total subscriber base reached 39 crore 27 lakh 49 thousand 93. With this, Jio has surpassed its competitors with a market share of 34.33 percent.

Bharti Airtel and Voda-Idea, the other two big private telecom companies, lost a large number of subscribers in May as in the last few months. Bharti Airtel’s mobile service was abandoned by 47 lakh 42 thousand 84 customers in May and its total subscribers stood at 31 crore 78 lakh 259 and market share stood at 27.78 percent.

In May, 47 million 26 thousand 357 customers of Voda-Idea were broken and its subscriber base declined to 30 million 99 lakh 25 thousand 291 and market share was 27.90 percent. Apart from Reliance Jio, the state-run telecom company BSNL also added 2 lakh 5 thousand subscribers in May. The market share of the enterprise reached 1.05 percent and the consumer base reached 11 million 99 lakh 61 thousand 592.



According to TRAI data, 56 lakh 11 thousand 338 customers were reduced in May. Total consumer base has come down from 114 crore 95 lakh 20 thousand to 114 crore 39 lakh 10 thousand. Also in April, Jio was the only company with a growing customer base. In April, consumers of Jio had increased by 15 lakh 75 thousand 333.



Bharti Airtel, the number two, lost the maximum 52 lakh 69 thousand 882 customers in April. Vodafone Idea at number three was also dealt a major blow in April. Its 45 lakh 16 thousand 866 customers were broken. BSNL also lost 20 thousand 53 subscribers in April. (Agency)
