New Delhi, Business Desk. The Aadhaar card has become an important document for every citizen at this time. The government has made it necessary to link the Aadhar card with many documents. For online services of Aadhaar, the user is required to register their mobile number with Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). If you have not registered your mobile number at the time of enrollment for Aadhaar, or you want to register a new mobile number, then you have to go to the permanent enrollment center to do so.
Aadhaar card is necessary in many tasks like filing income tax returns and taking PAN card. It is also required to take advantage of various government schemes. The mobile number cannot be registered online in the Aadhaar card. Let us know how to register mobile number in Aadhaar card.
Step 1. First go to the website of UIDAI https://www.uidai.gov.in/. Here, go to ‘My Aadhaar’ tab and click on ‘Locate and Enrollment Center’. Now a new page will open where you can know the address of your nearest enrollment center by clicking on the state, PIN code or search box.
Step 2. Now go to the enrollment center and fill the Aadhaar correction form.
Step 3. Here you have to enter your existing mobile number, which is to be updated in Aadhaar.
Step 4. Submit the form and make your biometrics available for authentication.
Step 5. Now you will get an acknowledgment slip. This slip will contain an update request number (URN).
Step 6. This URN can be used to track the status of Aadhaar updation.
The applicant is not required to submit any documents to update or register his mobile number.
