Even then don’t worry because now fresh KYC (Know Your Customer, KYC) can be done even without going to the bank. Reserve Bank of India itself i.e. RBI has given information about this some time ago. Now KYC can be done not only by visiting the bank but can also be done remotely. This is a remote method, video based custom identification process. Through which you can process fresh KYC from a video call sitting at home.

A self declaration form is mandatory

RBI has also said that the customer whose KYC does not have any change or updation, then only one self-declaration form will be sufficient for KYC. Along with this, RBI has also asked all the banks to provide other options to the customers for self-declaration. So that the work of customers can be done even without KYC.

These are the new options for KYC

Some time ago, similar instructions were given by RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das in a press conference that now the customer does not need to go to the bank to update the details related to KYC. Online Re-KYC can be done if there is no change in the customer details. However, initially some customers were finding the process difficult.

RBI advises customers to visit their bank to know what options their bank is offering for Re-KYC. First take this information that which detail they have to update in KYC. If there is no detail for updation, then you can follow it by taking information about non face to face channel.

Update like this

According to RBI, for reKYC, customers can do KYC through registered email ID, mobile number, ATM or digital payment application. If there is only a change in the address, then you can get it updated through any of the means mentioned here. However, it must be checked whether the information has been updated after two months or not.
