New Delhi: Ration Card: If you are a ration card holder then this news is of your use. Actually the government had started Garib Kalyan Yojana for the poor and vulnerable people. Now a big update has come from the government regarding the scheme.
According to this update, now the free wheat available on the ration card will not be given for four months. Actually there is a reason behind this. This time the procurement of wheat at the purchasing centers has reduced.
Rice will be available instead of wheat:
Wheat is not going to be available in Pratapgarh district under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. The Government of India has decided to give rice instead of wheat due to non-procurement of wheat.
Now people will get 5 kg rice per unit. On the other hand, 44 centers have been opened in Pratapgarh district keeping in mind the procurement of wheat. Wheat procurement has slowed down this time. In about 37 days, only about two thousand metric tonnes of wheat has been procured.
Card holders will get free facility twice a month:
Cardholders have started getting ration twice a month from the government. In this, distribution of ration is done after the first week of the month under the National Food Security Mission and after the 15th of the month according to the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.
Let us tell you that under PMGKY, 80 thousand quintals of wheat were distributed every month in the district, but this time due to less procurement of wheat, the government had started banning its allocation.
Other food items, oil etc. will be available on the ration card, but wheat will not be available for 5 months. At the same time, wheat will start getting in PMGKY again later.
Deputy RMO, Pratapgarh said:
Let us tell you that Pratapgarh Deputy RMO Ajit Kumar Tripathi said that due to lesser purchase of wheat, ration card holders will not get wheat under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for 4 months now.
Ban on distribution of ration due to non-availability of salt:
At the same time, according to the information, due to the arrival of salt in the ration godowns, the Kotedars are not distributing the ration. This is happening especially in many shops of the city. The cardholders arrive to get the ration, but the Kotdars are returning them saying that the salt is not being lifted. Regional Food Officer SK Pandey told that Kotedar will distribute only after the salt arrives.
