The Railway Board has sent a proposal to the Center for this, which can be approved by the cabinet very soon. The cabinet usually announces the bonus of railway employees before Dussehra. In this, there will be a pressure of Rs 2000 crore on the exchequer of the government.

This bonus of 78 days to railway employees is estimated to cost the government about Rs 2000 crore. The prescribed salary calculation limit for PLB payment to eligible railway employees is Rs 7000 per month. For this the maximum limit of 78 days bonus is Rs 17,951.

The Railways had given 78 days bonus to its railway employees last year as well. A railway employee will get a bonus of Rs 7000 per 30 days. In such a situation, that employee for 78 days will get a bonus of about Rs 18000.
