IRCTC: Railway Minister said that six berths will be reserved for women in sleeper class in mail and express trains. Railways has started many facilities including fixation of reserve berths.


Indian Railways News: Now women will not have to worry about the seat in the train. A big announcement has been made by the Railways for women. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has made a big announcement keeping in mind the women. According to the new announcement, Indian Railways will also reserve seats for women like bus and metro trains.

Seat Reserve for Women:

Now Special Berths for Female Passengers in Trains has been reserved for women in long distance trains by the Indian Railways. Apart from this, a plan is also being prepared for the safety of women. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that for the convenience of women in trains, Indian Railways has started many facilities including fixation of reserve berths.

Six berths reserved in sleeper class

The Railway Minister said that in Mail and Express trains, six berths will be reserved for women in the sleeper class. Six berths in the third AC (3AC class) of fully air-conditioned express trains including Rajdhani Express, Garib Rath and Duronto have been reserved for women.

Six lower berths in each sleeper coach of the train, four to five lower berths in 3 tier AC coach and three to four lower berths in 2 tier AC senior citizens, women of 45 years of age and above and Reserved for pregnant women.

Ashwini Vaishnav said that special arrangements have also been made for the safety of women passengers. Railway Protection Force (RPF) GRP and District Police will provide security to the passengers. Apart from this, steps are being taken with the help of GRP for other passengers including women on trains and stations.
