Punjab government gift to children of 12th, giving smartphone for free online education

new Delhi. Schools have been closed for a long time due to Coronavirus Pandemic. In such a situation, online education is being promoted so that children’s education is not affected, but because many children do not have smartphones, they are having difficulty in studying. To help such students, the Punjab government has launched a special scheme (Free Smartphone Scheme). Under which children of class 12 will be given smartphones for free. This work has been started from today.



Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said that some youth were struggling with problems in getting online education. In such a situation, through the smartphone scheme, students will be able to access the information available on the web as well as the teaching material posted by the school education department. This will make them easier to study. All district headquarters and some major cities were included for mobile distribution.

 CM Amarinder Singh informed that 15 students studying in the respective city / district will be called and given smartphones. Smartphones worth about 1.75 lakh rupees will be distributed in the first phase. So far, about 50 thousand smartphones have been distributed.

Who will get the smartphone?
The benefit of this scheme will be available only to the students residing in Punjab. In the first phase of the smartphone scheme, only girls will be given benefits. Later the boys will also be given phones. The children of 11th and 12th will get the benefit of the scheme.



How to apply:
It is mandatory to have an Aadhaar card to take advantage of the application scheme. In addition, the student must have a school ID card. Since this scheme is only for the residents of Punjab, it should also have a proof of residence. Contact your school to apply. Apart from this, you can also get information on the respective website.
