New Delhi, Jagran Bureau.  After Kovid-19, preparations to bring foreign companies alienated from China are now taking more concrete form. The central government has approached 600 such companies operating in China, which are considering putting up a construction site in another country by expanding their borewells from there. The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry has also approached the states to implement this scheme. States which will give the facility to set up plants at the most economical level and in a short time will be allowed to go to foreign companies. States will also be given separate incentives. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal shared all this information in Dainik Jagran e-Roundtable program.

Goyal said that our objective is to make India a world-class hub of finished products. For supply of raw materials, contact is being made with those countries where there is abundance. Currently, preparations are on to become a global supplier of 12 types of finished products. This includes essential items such as auto parts, leather and leather shoes, textiles, food processing, electronics, aluminum, iron-steel, PPE, chemicals, etc.

Goyal said that if Kovid-19 has given challenges, then there are also indications of several opportunities. In this regard, the government is working ahead with the industry. Different strategies will be made for different industries. Giving the example of the furniture sector, he said that we currently import furniture. We lack timber here. Forest policy is being worked out to overcome this shortage so that the forest can be planted for commercial purposes in the country.

Goyal said that the role of states will be the most important in bringing foreign companies to India. Government’s effort is such that there should be competition among states to call foreign companies. At present, foreign companies have the biggest problem in getting units mainly in getting land and getting approval locally. States are being prepared to give maximum attention to providing land. There is a lot of confusion in foreign companies regarding land acquisition in India which needs to be resolved.

Swadeshi does not mean closing its market

In the program of Dainik Jagran, Goyal said that Swadeshi does not mean disconnect from the world. Nor do foreign companies have to close their doors. Foreign means self-sufficient India full of confidence. He said that the slogan being given to self-reliance does not mean that we are cut off from the world or that we are not calling foreign companies to ourselves. India has a lot of potential and our industry is also able to compete with foreign competition. Giving examples, he said that until a few months ago PPE was not made in our country, we learned to make it and today there is no shortage of PPE.
