New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday said that it has decided to stop the physical evaluation of OMR answer sheets for class 10 and class 12 board exams at exam centers on the day itself. CBSE said that this decision will be effective from December 16.

However, the board did not give any reason for the sudden change in norms during the exam. But, it is believed that cheating could be the reason for this. Actually, there were some reports of cheating related to evaluation in the school from many places. At the same time, CBSE had expressed displeasure over the closure of CCTV cameras in the examination centres.

OMR sheets will have to be packed in 15 minutes,

Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj said in a letter to the affiliated schools, “The process of evaluation is being stopped from December 16 on the same day in the examination center. All center superintendents will pack and seal the OMR sheet in the presence of the invigilator within 15 minutes of the completion of the examination. The sealed parcel will be signed by the center superintendent and observer and will also mention the time of packing.”

Bhardwaj said, “Once the OMR is packed and sealed, it will be sent to the concerned regional office. After dispatch, receipt of remittance will also be uploaded.”

The board examination of
class 10th and 12th is going on right now. Term-1 board examination of students of class 10th and 12th is going on. It is an objective type question-based test for which students are given Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) answer sheets to fill. Board exams will be held till December 30.

Till now this was the arrangement,
let us tell you that till now the school teachers used to do physical evaluation of OMR sheet at the examination center. After this they were sent for digital evaluation. But, now it has been decided to change this system.
