This special FD scheme has come into effect from 19 October 2022. A statement said that the bank is offering higher interest rates up to 7.85 per cent per annum. This scheme is for senior citizens (60-80 years) and super senior citizens (80 years and above). Under this, a lump sum amount of less than two crore rupees can be deposited.

There are two types of options
This special 600 day FD scheme of PNB is available with and without premature withdrawal. PNB is offering an interest rate of 7 per cent per annum under the option of premature withdrawal. Apart from this, there is an interest rate of 7.50 percent for senior citizens and 7.80 percent for super senior citizens.

At the same time, without premature withdrawal option, interest is being received at the rate of 7.05 percent per annum. In this, there is an interest rate of 7.55 percent for senior citizens and 7.85 percent for super senior citizens. In this way, PNB is now offering a maximum interest rate of 7.85 percent on the special FD scheme.

He said that for greater ease, existing customers of the bank can also avail the scheme online through PNB One app and internet banking.

Earlier, Punjab National Bank (PNB) had increased the fixed deposit rate on October 25. This month PNB had increased the FD rate for the second time. The benefit of increased interest rates is being given on FDs of less than Rs 2 crore. The new rates of PNB fixed deposits have come into effect from 26 October. Earlier, Punjab National Bank had revised FD interest rates on October 19, 2022. According to PNB, FDs maturing in 46 to 90 days are getting 4.50 percent interest. The interest on FDs for this period has been increased by 75 basis points. The new rate has been implemented from 26 October.
