Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana is one of these. This scheme was started by the government in the year 2020 during the Corona period. Through this scheme (PMGKAY), crores of people of the country have taken benefit. In this report, we will tell you how many people have got its benefit so far and how much money the government has spent on this scheme.

What is Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY)?

In the Coronavirus period, there were many such people, whose employment was over. Keeping this in mind, the central government started PM Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKAY) so that no poor sleeps hungry. For this, the government had allocated an amount of 1.70 crore. Under this scheme, ration card holders are given wheat, pulses and rice at the rate of 5 kg per person for free. The government claims that so far about 80 crore people have taken advantage of this scheme.

Oil, salt and sugar will also be available 

UP CM Yogi Adityanath told the city of Lord Ram, the state government has decided that we will give 3 months ration to the Antyodaya card holder under the Pradhan Mantri Anna Yojana. Under this scheme, pulses, oil, salt and sugar will also be given every month. 15 crore people of the state will be able to take advantage of this scheme every month.

So much ration taken from Food Corporation of India depot

According to a media report, more than 63.67 lakh metric tonnes of ration has been taken from Food Corporation of India depots in the state and union territories under the PM Garib Kalyan Yojana. Apart from this, in May 2021, the Central Government has given ration to 55 crore (National Food Security Act) beneficiaries in 34 states and union territories. In June, 1.3 lakh metric tonnes of ration was distributed to 2.6 crore NFSA beneficiaries. Under the National Food Security Act, (NFSA) 2013 in May and June 2021, ration has been distributed to 90% and 12 percent of its beneficiaries. For this the government has spent Rs 13000 crore.
