PFRDA to ease on-boarding of government employees in NPS

In the Corona era, many works have become online in different sectors including banking. Due to this, where people got relief from making rounds of office and bank. At the same time, the work of the institutions also started getting easier.


The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) had sought suggestions from the nodal office on a new digital service providing government sector employees an option to register under the National Pension System through ‘e-NPS Government’. PFRDA has proposed to make eNPS mandatory from April 1.

A large number of suggestions have come from the nodal offices of the government sector. PFRDA has said on the suggestions that it will consider it very seriously and any decision will be taken in the interest of the subscriber. Let us tell you, eNPS is an online platform which is operated by NSDL-CRA on behalf of NPS Trust. At present, all Indians working in India Sector and Corporate Sector under eNPS get the facility of online registration. Also, the facility of activating Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN) is also available here.

Now government employees who have got cover under NPS, such people can register online in NPS. PRAN can also be generated through eNPS. The registration process under eNPS is also now completely online. Let us know how you can take advantage of it

Online and offline through eKYC

Subscribers can register under Aadhaar based e-KYC. In this, the subscriber has to give his information under e-KYC. Whereas in offline, customers have to complete the process by downloading the e-KYC form.

Through pan card

In this option, the subscriber has to upload his valid PAN card ID and required KYC documents. The KYC details are verified by the nodal officers.

1- Register like this under eNPS

2- Visit the eNPS website and go to the ‘National Pension System’ tab and click on the Registration option.

3- After this select on the Government Employee option and then go to the option of Registration (Aadhaar / PAN).

4- After selecting the correct option, the subscriber will have to choose the government category.

5- After this the subscriber will have to share some information about the nodal office.

6- If the subscriber has selected the process of Aadhaar, then he will have to give the correct information related to Aadhaar.

7- In this step, the subscriber will have to give information related to himself. such as name and date of birth

8- After this, information related to the nodal office will be visible after clicking on Generate Acknowledgment no. If it is correct then do OK, otherwise give correct information.

9- Acknowledgment no will be generated.

10- After this the subscriber will have to give information related to the bank, scheme.

Upload the document-

You will have to give a canceled check of the account for which you have filled the details. You have to upload canceled cheque, photograph and signature. And confirm it after verifying it again.

The mobile number has to be verified with OTP. In case of e-sign, OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number of Aadhar card . After completing this the information will be checked at the Associate Nodal Office and PRAN will be generated.
