PF interest rate: Big News! Notice given in Rajya Sabha on interest rate of EPFO, MP demanded discussion

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) on Saturday decided to reduce the interest on provident fund deposits for 2021-22 and give interest at the rate of 8.1 percent.


New Delhi: CPI MLA Binoy Viswam on Monday gave a suspension notice in the Rajya Sabha to discuss the decision to reduce the EPFO ​​interest rate from 8.5 per cent to 8.1 per cent, the lowest in the last 43 years, under Rule 267.

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) on Saturday decided to reduce the interest on provident fund deposits for 2021-22 and give interest at the rate of 8.1 percent . This reduction in interest rate is the lowest since 1977-78 when the EPF interest rate was recorded at 8 per cent. AAP member Sanjay Singh has also given zero hour notice for not changing the original building of Mahatma Gandhi at Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad.
