Pension: The Haryana government has announced an increase in senior pension from ₹3,000 to ₹3,200 per month, effective November 2025. This increase will provide financial relief to approximately 2 million senior citizens and improve their lifestyles.
The Haryana government has given a significant gift to the state’s senior citizens on the occasion of its first anniversary. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that senior citizens in the state will now receive a monthly pension of ₹3,200. Currently, this amount was ₹3,000, but will be increased starting November 2025. This decision was taken with the financial security of youth, farmers, and senior citizens in mind.
Elderly people will get direct benefit
According to the state government, this increase will directly benefit over 2 million pensioners. According to data from the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Haryana has over 3,500 pensioners over the age of 100, with women outnumbering men. The Chief Minister said this decision will help senior citizens live a dignified life and comfortably meet their monthly expenses.
46 out of 217 resolutions of the government have been fulfilled.
At a state-level event, the Chief Minister stated that the Nayab Saini government has fulfilled 46 of the 217 promises made before the assembly elections in its first year . Work on the remaining 158 is in progress. CM Saini said that this pension increase is not only a step towards social welfare but also reflects the government’s commitment to development and good governance.
Housing scheme and other promises
At the event, the Chief Minister also announced that his government has allotted 518 new plots in Panjore, Panchkula, under the Chief Minister’s Urban Housing Scheme. A total of 15,765 plots have been allotted so far, while more than 77,000 families have benefited through the Prime Minister’s and Chief Minister’s Housing Schemes. The Chief Minister also promised that the government will fulfill the goal of providing “every person with a roof over their head.”
Nayab Singh Saini said that development work is being carried out in Haryana with transparency and accountability. This step of increasing pensions for the elderly will strengthen social security, providing them with financial relief and the opportunity to live a life with self-respect.
