Patna Metro: With the start of metro service in Patna, the city residents will get relief from traffic jams and will get the option of comfortable travel. The minimum fare on the Red Line has been fixed at Rs 15 and the maximum at Rs 30.
The dream of metro for the people of Patna is soon going to become a reality. The fare for travelling on the capital’s Red Line has been fixed. According to the information, the minimum fare has been kept at Rs 15 and the maximum at Rs 30. That is, passengers will be able to travel from any station to another station for just Rs 15, while the maximum cost for travelling on the entire line will be Rs 30. Whereas in Delhi, the fare for one station is only Rs 11.
Route of the Red Line
This first corridor of Patna Metro will be about 6.107 km long. It will be called the Red Line. This route will include five stations like New Pataliputra Bus Terminal, Zero Mile, Bhootnath, Khemnichak and Malahi Pakri. This line will help in providing relief from traffic jams by connecting the crowded areas of the city.
Ticket Vending Machine Facility:
For the convenience of passengers, state-of-the-art Ticket Vending Machines (TVM) are being installed at all stations. These machines, which will cost around Rs 2.89 crore, will allow passengers to buy tickets using modern methods like cash, debit card, credit card, QR code and mobile wallet. Paper tickets, electronic tickets or tokens will also be available from these machines, which will work like the Delhi Metro.
Easy and tech-friendly system
Ticket vending machines will not only issue tickets but will also provide the facility to recharge smart cards and mobile wallets. Passengers will be able to get tickets in minutes without standing in long queues. This will provide relief to thousands of passengers daily and travel will be faster and easier.

Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC) has prepared the fare proposal. Now only its official announcement is pending. It is being told that for this Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has also started the process of agency selection.
