Pakistan announces team for T20 World Cup 2022, stormy batsman out

Pakistan T20 World Cup Full Squad: Babar Azam and Company will start their campaign in the T20 World Cup against India on 23 October. Pakistan team will play T20 series against England at home before T20 World Cup. Young pacer Naseem Shah has also been successful in the 15-man squad selected for the World Cup, who had a stellar performance in the recent Asia Cup.


New Delhi. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced its 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The T20 World Cup will be held in Australia from 16 October. The command of the team is in the hands of Babar Azam. Fakhar Zaman, who performed poorly in the Asia Cup, has been dropped from the team. Left-handed batsman Fakhar Zaman had a poor performance in the Asia Cup 2022. He was not able to perform as expected. He played only one half-century against Hong Kong in the Asia Cup.

Naseem Shah gets reward for good performance in Asia Cup

Young pacer Naseem Shah, who made his debut in T20 International cricket through the Asia Cup, has also been included in the World Cup squad. Naseem bowled brilliantly in the Asia Cup. He impressed everyone with his bowling. Left arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, who was ruled out of the Asia Cup tournament due to injury, has returned. The responsibility of vice-captaincy will rest on the shoulders of Shadab Khan. Pakistan will start its campaign in T20 World Cup 2022 against Pakistan on 23 October.

Pakistan had traveled to the semi-finals in the 2021 T20 World Cup

Babar Azam and Company was successful in traveling to the semi-finals of the 2021 T20 World Cup last year. Pakistan had won the semi-final ticket by winning all their matches on the group stage. They entered the last 4 in the league stage by defeating India, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Namibia and Scotland.

Babar Azam (Captain), Shadab Khan (Vice Captain), Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Wasim, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Shan Masood and Usman Qadir.

Reserve players: Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Haris, Shahnawaz Dahani.
