October Holiday Alert: Schools to Remain Shut for Continuous Days, Check Schedule Here

School Holidays: There’s good news for school students. Schools will be closed for several days in October 2025. Several festivals, including Gandhi Jayanti, Dussehra, Diwali, and Bhai Dooj, will result in extended holidays in various states.

In Rajasthan, schools will be closed from October 13th to 24th for Diwali. Students will benefit from a total of 12 days of holidays. In Bihar, all government schools will be closed for four days, from September 29th to October 2nd. Private schools will begin their holidays from September 26th to 27th. Consequently, students will benefit from a longer break of three to five days.

Holiday declared in schools

A total of 10 days holiday has been announced on Durga Puja in Andhra Pradesh, while Chhattisgarh will also give 6 days holiday on Dussehra and 6 days holiday on Diwali.

In Karnataka, schools have been declared closed until October 6th due to Durga Puja and Dussehra, while in Telangana, schools will remain closed until October 3rd. Schools will resume operations on October 5th. In Jharkhand, private school holidays will begin on September 27th and continue until October 5th.

There will be many holidays in the month of October.

  • Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October
  • October 5, 12, 19, 26, except Sundays
  • Naraka Chaturdashi on October 20
  • October 21: Diwali
  • 22 October: Govardhan Puja
  • Bhaiya Dooj on 23 October and
  • There will be holidays in schools on 28th October due to Chhath Puja.
