India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) is providing the savings account opening service digitally for the convenience of its customers. Now you can open your account sitting at home online through IPPB’s mobile app. Apart from this, post office account holders can easily do basic banking transactions through this app. Any Indian citizen of 18 years can open a savings account in IPPB. After the introduction of IPPB’s app based account opening facility, while on one hand you will get rid of going to the post office and waiting in long queues, on the other hand you will be able to do all the transactions through mobile. You can download this app on any smartphone from Google Play Store or other means.
The savings account opened under IPPB is valid for one year only. You will have to complete the biometric authentication within one year of account opening after which it will be converted into a regular account. You have to follow this simple method to open your savings account.
To open your savings account under IPPB, you have to first download the IPPB mobile app. After that you have to open the app and click on ‘Open Account’ option. On going to this option you will have to enter your PAN card number and Aadhar card number. After entering PAN card number and Aadhar card number you will receive OTP on your registered mobile number. After entering the OTP, you will have to provide details like your mother’s name, educational qualification, address and nominee etc. After entering all this information, you have to click on submit, after which your savings account will be opened. Instant access to this bank account can be done only through the mobile app.
