The return service, IndiGo flight 6E-2279, is scheduled to depart Noida at 6:55 PM and arrive back in Lucknow by 8:00 PM.

Honoring Local Landowners: 172 Farmers Onboard

In a significant gesture of recognition, one of the primary inaugural flights departing from the new hub is carrying 172 local farmers who originally yielded their land for the mega-infrastructure project.

Accompanied by Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, the group is traveling to Lucknow to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The initiative highlights the state’s collaborative approach to land acquisition and infrastructural development.

Operational Scale and Growth Targets

The opening of the Jewar hub is set to drastically reduce pressure on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), providing direct regional connectivity for travelers across Western Uttar Pradesh.

  • Initial Destinations: Launch phases will primarily connect Jewar with Lucknow, Bengaluru, and select domestic hubs.

  • First-Year Target: Noida International Airport Vice Chairman Christoph Schnellmann announced an ambitious baseline goal of handling 5 million passengers within its first year of operation.

  • Long-Term Capacity: Scale-up blueprints plan for an ultimate handling capacity of 70 million travelers annually.

High-Profile Delegations and Multi-Layered Security

The maiden flights observed a full house, with all inaugural tickets completely sold out. High-profile passengers and delegates traveling from Lucknow to Noida included Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana and UP Chief Secretary SP Goyal. The arrival flight was received by Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Gautam Budh Nagar MP Mahesh Sharma, and top officials from Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) and the Yamuna Authority.

Airport Security and Surveillance Architecture

To ensure seamless operations, security authorities have deployed a specialized multi-tiered defense framework:

Security Component Personnel & Assets Deployed Primary Technical Features
Central Forces 1,030 CISF Personnel Security checkpoints and perimeter safety protocols.
State Police Dedicated Airport Police Station Staffed by 1 inspector, 1 senior sub-inspector, and 58 constables.
Surveillance Tech AI-Powered High-Res CCTV Real-time facial recognition, behavior analysis, and automated threat detection.
Emergency Response Fire, Medical, & Tactical Units Active K9 dog squads, dedicated firefighting units, and Quick Reaction Teams (QRT).

This strategic aviation asset is expected to heavily accelerate economic integration between Uttar Pradesh’s administrative capital (Lucknow) and its primary commercial zone (Noida), with multiple domestic airlines slated to introduce additional routes over the coming weeks.
