Many big changes have taken place across the country from today i.e. 1 September (New Rules 1 September 2025). It is important for the common man to know about these. This month is also going to be special because the GST Council meeting is going to be held from 3 September. A decision can be taken in this meeting regarding GST rate cut.
New Rules 1 September 2025: What changed today?
1. Change in the rules for Silver Jewellery
Hallmark will be applied to silver from today, i.e. 1 September. Just like hallmark is used to check the purity of gold, now the purity of silver will be identified through hallmark. Customers can easily check the purity of silver by looking at the hallmark.
2. Change in LPG prices
On the first of every month, the gas agency changes the price of cylinders . This change is made in 14 kg and 19 kg cylinders. Once again the gas agency has reduced the price of cylinders. However, this time also the reduction has been made in 19 kg cylinders.

3. Big change in SBI Card
If you have a SBI (State Bank of India) credit card, then this is going to be useful news for you. According to the information received from SBI’s website, Lifestyle Home Center SBI Card and Lifestyle Home Center SBI Card Select holders will not get reward points on digital gaming and government portal payments. Both of these have been removed from the list of reward points.
4. Decision regarding GST Reforms
Late night on 22 August, the government announced that the 56th meeting of the GST Council will be held in New Delhi on 3 and 4 September 2025. Many important decisions can be taken in this meeting. This meeting is also going to be special because of the GST Cut. If media reports are to be believed, now under GST, instead of four tax slabs, there will be two tax slabs (5% and 12%). The common man is going to get its direct benefit.
