LPG cylinder price: Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹ 51.50. The new rates will be applicable across the country from September 1.

Oil marketing companies have taken the decision after the latest monthly review. This will benefit hotels, restaurants and other commercial consumers.

The retail price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder in Delhi will now be ₹ 1,580. At the same time, there has been no change in the prices of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders.

Third consecutive cut

Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have continuously reduced the prices of commercial cylinders in the last few months.

  • A reduction of ₹33.50 was made on August 1.
  • There was a decrease of ₹ 58.50 on July 1.
  • In June, the price was reduced by ₹ 24 to ₹ 1,723.50.
  • The price stood at ₹1,762 in April. There was a reduction of ₹7 in February, while there was an increase of ₹6 in March.

No impact on domestic consumers

About 90 percent of the country’s total LPG consumption is used for domestic purposes. The remaining 10 percent is used in the commercial, industrial and automobile sectors. The prices of domestic cylinders generally remain stable, while commercial rates fluctuate more.

Speed up connections

Domestic LPG connections have doubled in the last decade. Their number is expected to reach around 33 crores by April 2025. This shows how important cooking gas has become in the daily lives of Indian families.
