This new rule has come into effect from today
If you also travel by train, then know that starting today, October 1, 2025, a rule is being implemented that within the first 15 minutes of online train booking opening, only those who are Aadhaar-certified will be able to book train tickets. Here, Aadhaar-certified refers to those whose Aadhaar card is linked to their IRCTC account. Therefore, if you want to take advantage of this facility, you will need to link your Aadhaar to your IRCTC account.
This rule will not apply only here
While the new rules state that only those with Aadhaar linked to their IRCTC account will be able to book train tickets within the first 15 minutes of online train booking opening, booking of general reserved tickets through Indian Railways’ computerized PRS counters will remain unchanged; they will continue as usual.

Indian Railways opens bookings for its regular trains 60 days prior to the travel date. Advance booking for regular tickets begins at 12:20 AM daily and continues until 11:45 PM the following night. Therefore, if you want to book train tickets online, it’s mandatory to link your Aadhaar with your IRCTC account.
