New Passport Photo Guidelines for Indian Citizens in Kuwait to Take Effect Next Month

New photo guidelines are going to be implemented for Indian passport applications in Kuwait. The Indian Embassy has announced that from September 2025, passport applications will be accepted only with photographs that conform to international aviation standards.

The change is in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)’s biometric and identification standards, which aim to ensure security and uniformity of travel documents.

Key points of the new photo guidelines:

1. Photo size and quality: The size and quality of the photo should be in accordance with ICAO standards.

2. Background: The background of the photo should be light in color and without any shadows.

3. Facial position: The applicant’s face should be directly towards the camera, and the eyes should be open and clearly visible.

4. Change in application process**: If the photo submitted does not conform to the standards, the application will not be accepted.

Tips in the application process:

Before taking photo: Visit a local photo studio and get the photo taken as per ICAO standards.

While applying online: Scan the photo and upload it on the application portal.

Photo quality: The photo quality should be high so that there is no problem in biometric scanning.

This move is important towards making the passport application process for Indian citizens in Kuwait more secure and standardized. Applicants are requested to follow the new photo guidelines to avoid any problem in the application.
