New Parking Policy Announced: Now only these people will be able to park their vehicles outside the shops

To make Delhi Road jam-free in Meerut, the police and the municipal corporation removed encroachment from Ghantaghar to Bachcha Park. Shopkeepers were prevented from decorating their shops by placing slabs on drains and were warned that they would be fined if vehicles other than those of customers are parked there.

The police’s target is to complete the journey from Partapur Interchange to Begumpul in 15 minutes.

In the campaign to make Delhi Road jam-free, on Thursday, the traffic police and the corporation carried out an anti-encroachment drive from Ghantaghar to Bachcha Park on the fifth day. During this, the traffic police strongly reprimanded those who had set up shops by putting slabs over the drains.

Ordered to remove the shop immediately. During this time, the traffic police warned the shopkeepers that if any vehicle other than a customer is found parked outside the shop, a challan will be issued. They warned the shopkeepers to park their vehicles only inside the white line drawn on the road.

The traffic police is running a campaign to complete the journey from Partapur Interchange to Begumpul in 15 minutes. Efforts are being made to improve traffic on the connected road to reduce the pressure of vehicles on Delhi Road.

Rithani Tiraha, Bijli Bamba, Sharda Road, Ghantaghar, Idgah Road, Railway Road, Ghantaghar Road, Mehtab Cinema Road, Jali Kothi, Bank Street Road, Sotiganj Road are congested due to encroachment. This is the reason why there are traffic jams here.

The traffic police has started an encroachment removal campaign along with the municipal corporation team so that vehicular traffic is not affected. For the last five days, permanent and temporary encroachments are being removed from the roads from Ghantaghar to Railway Road, Chhatri Wala Peer, Jali Kothi, Khairnagar Chauraha and Bachcha Park.

The constructions made on the drains were demolished with the help of bulldozers. The platforms and tin sheds made in front of the shops were also removed. The traders protested against this but their protest was in vain in front of the strictness of the police.

On Thursday again the traffic police and the corporation team jointly removed encroachment from Ghantaghar to Chhatri Wale Peer, Ahmednagar, Jali Kothi, Khairnagar Square and Bachcha Park. Many shops were set up by putting slabs and iron mesh on the drains in front of the shops.

The traffic police got it removed. They warned that if the shop is set up again, the goods will be confiscated. All shopkeepers were told that only the vehicles of customers should be parked in front of the shops. The rest of the vehicles will be parked at the Ghantaghar parking.

Anti-encroachment drive was carried out from Ghantaghar to Bachha Park on the fifth day. During this, shopkeepers were warned to keep their goods inside the shop.
