There’s big news for women. The Uttar Pradesh government has allowed women to work night shifts. This decision will increase women’s income. Following this decision, women in Uttar Pradesh will be able to work from 7 pm to 6 am. Notably, women working night shifts will receive double their pay.

In addition, women will also receive transportation, health, and various security benefits. CCTV surveillance will also be available for women working night shifts to ensure they face no difficulties. In a notification, the Uttar Pradesh government stated that this rule will apply to all industries in the state.

With the implementation of this rule, women will now be able to work in sectors that fall into the hazardous category. It’s worth noting that women were previously only allowed to work in 12 industrial sectors. Now, this number has been expanded to 29 sectors.

Under this new rule, the Uttar Pradesh government will allow women to work up to six days a week. Furthermore, the overtime limit has been increased from 75 hours to 144 hours per quarter. According to the government, this decision is not only an administrative reform, but it is also considered a concrete step towards women’s empowerment and gender equality.

This decision by the Uttar Pradesh government will increase their participation in industry. Furthermore, it will strengthen their self-confidence. This government decision will open up new employment opportunities in the state, allowing women to contribute equally to their roles as men.

The safety of women in the state is a priority for the government. The government is strengthening security for women in the state through initiatives such as the 1090 Women’s Power Line, the 112 Helpline, Anti-Romeo Squads, and the Safe City Project.
