Modi’s guarantee to women
This time the slogan of the government is that women are guaranteed by the Modi government. Till about 12 years ago, there was a separate tax slab for women in India. The basic exemption limit in income tax payment for women was slightly higher than that for men. That is, women paid less tax than men. However, during the time of Congress government, the government abolished this system from the financial year 2012-13. Same income tax slab was introduced for both men and women. Since then there is no separate income tax slab for women and women do not get the benefit of any special income tax exemption. However, this time it is expected that there will be a separate tax slab for women.

Modi government can bring this convenience for women i.e. separate tax slab. According to sources, Modi government may bring a separate tax slab for women. Unlike men, women taxpayers will not have to pay any tax up to Rs 8 lakh in the new tax regime. That is, they can get different and more relaxations in the budget. Currently, in the new tax regime no tax has to be paid up to Rs 7 lakh. Now the government can increase it to Rs 8 lakh for women. That is, with the new tax slab, women will not have to pay any tax up to Rs 8 lakh.
