India-Nepal Border Dispute: The opposition Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has decided to sack Sarita Giri for violating the party whip. On the other hand, opposition to China has started in Nepal too, on Tuesday, hundreds of students demonstrated outside the Chinese Embassy.
Kathmandu Sarita Giri has been sacked from the party for supporting India and opposing the new map of Nepal. Sarita had violated the unanimous approval of the Constitution amendment to approve the revised map of the country. Strategically important Indian regions were included in the map. The opposition Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has decided to sack Sarita Giri for violating the party whip. On the other hand, opposition to China has started in Nepal too, on Tuesday hundreds of students demonstrated outside the Chinese Embassy.
According to the Kathmandu Post news, a three-member committee headed by party general secretary Ramshay Prasad Yadav recommended that Giri be sacked from the MP as well as the party membership. This decision was taken at a meeting of party officials on Tuesday. The JSP and the main opposition Nepali Congress had supported the initiative of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s government. Contrary to the official stand of his party, MP Giri registered a separate amendment proposal in the Parliament Secretariat. Giri demanded that the old map be kept intact and said that there is no clear evidence to claim Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani as Nepali territory. Samajwadi Party asked Giri to withdraw the amendment, but he refused to withdraw his amendment proposal.
Opposition to Oli government told-
Opposition parties of immature Nepal on Tuesday criticized the K P Oli government for its ‘immature’ foreign policy and said that it was disrupting the country’s relations with its neighbors. Prime Minister Oli has been under severe criticism since his government’s move last month to include the strategically important three Indian regions – Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura – in the country’s updated political map. There is also pressure from the leaders of his party to leave the post of Prime Minister and Party President for their anti-India statements on Oli, who is known for his inclination towards China.
Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, the working president of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), last week demanded Oli’s resignation, saying his statement that India was plotting to remove him was’ neither politically correct nor Only diplomatically appropriate. According to the news of the Kathmandu Post newspaper, a meeting of opposition parties held on Tuesday said that the Oli government has adopted a very unbalanced and irresponsible foreign policy that is disrupting Nepal’s relationship with neighbors. According to the news, the meeting said that according to leaders of Nepali Congress (NC) and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), relations with neighbors have deteriorated due to immature foreign policy conduct and have become very complicated
Without naming India, NC Vice President Bimalinder Nidhi said, “It was found in the meeting that Nepal is facing difficulty in maintaining good relations with neighbors due to the immature foreign policy of the government.” Interestingly, the NC and JSP last month supported the Oli government’s Constitution Amendment Bill to redraw the new political map of Nepal. This move of the government was a dispute between India and Nepal and India made it clear that it is not acceptable for Kathmandu to exaggerate regional claims. Nidhi said that other issues including the current political situation, postponement of the House of Government, foreign policy and poor handling of Corona virus epidemic were discussed in the meeting.

Students demonstrated in front of Chinese Embassy in Nepal
Hundreds of students demonstrated in front of the Chinese Embassy on Tuesday against Chinese Ambassador Hou Yankee’s interference in Nepal’s internal affairs. Activists of the Nepal Students Union, the student unit of the main opposition Nepali Congress Party, demonstrated in front of the embassy. The Chinese ambassador has held talks with several leaders of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) to save the post of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli facing pressure for resignation.
