Due to the heat, the demand for AC local trains has increased, in view of which the Railways has taken a big step. Railways has prepared to give big relief to the passengers traveling in Mumbai local train.

Central Railway has decided to replace 12 non-AC local trains with AC local trains on its main line. It will start from the coming May 14 i.e. Saturday. This decision was taken in view of the overwhelming response received after the recent reduction in travel fares of Mumbai AC local trains. This decision of the Railways will benefit the passengers traveling in the local train.

12 non-AC locals converted into AC trains

According to a statement issued by the Central Railway, it has also been decided to operate 14 additional AC local services on Sundays and festive holidays. Shivaji Sutar, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway said that in view of the huge response and increasing demand for AC locals on the main line, we have decided to replace the existing 12 non-AC locals with AC ones from the main line.

Number of AC locals will increase from 44 to 56

Let us tell you that the Central Railway travels daily with more than 35 lakh passengers. Including main line running between CSMT and Kasara/Khopoli stations and Harbor line running between CSMT and Goregaon/Panvel stations. Now with the increase of 12 AC services on the main line, the total number of such services on the main line will increase from 44 to 56.
