Oil Secretary Pankaj Jain said that since the time of Kovid no subsidy has been given on LPG and only that subsidy is provided which was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on March 21.

Subsidy of Rs 200 in LPG Gas Cylinder

While announcing a record reduction of Rs 8 per liter in excise duty on petrol and Rs 6 on diesel, Sitharaman said that the beneficiaries of PM Ujjwala Yojana will get a subsidy of Rs 200 per cylinder, which will give some relief to these beneficiaries. . The increase in the price of LPG has increased the burden on the pocket of the common man.

Customers will get 14 kg cylinders in LPG Gas Cylinder

The price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in the national capital is Rs 1,003. The beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PM Ujjwala Yojana) will get a subsidy of Rs 200 directly in their bank account, due to which the price of LPG gas cylinder will be Rs 803 per. This will be a 14.2 kg cylinder.

Commercial LPG Cylinder Price

Oil marketing companies have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by about Rs 135 from June 1 . The Commercial LPG Cylinder Price of 19 kg in Delhi is now ₹ 2219.00 against the previous level of ₹ 2355.50 per cylinder. LPG price in Mumbai has been reduced from ₹ 2,307 to ₹ 2171.50 per cylinder while in Kolkata a consumer will have to pay ₹ 2,322 per cylinder instead of ₹ 2,455. Whereas in Chennai, a customer will have to spend ₹ 2373 instead of ₹ 2,508.

How much will the government spend on LPG Gas Cylinder?

The LPG subsidy for Ujjwala beneficiaries will have an annual revenue of about Rs 6,100 crore. The government abolished subsidies on petrol in June 2010 and on diesel in November 2014. After a few years the subsidy on kerosene ended and now the subsidy on LPG has been effectively abolished for most. However, there is no formal order to abolish subsidies of petrol, diesel and kerosene.

These women will benefit in PM Ujjwala Yojana

Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Most Backward Classes, adult women associated with Antyodaya Anna Yojana will be given the benefit of this scheme among those eligible to get LPG connection under PM Ujjwala Yojana .

LPG Gas Cylinder Price Increases 7% in 6 Months

Puri said that the rates of LPG gas cylinders for domestic consumers have increased by only 7 per cent in the last 6 months while Saudi CP has increased by 43 per cent. Most users apart from non-subsidised Ujjwala payments have increased by Rs 103.50 per 14.2 kg cylinder from October 2021 and around Rs 200 in a year.

In June 2021, the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder was Rs 809. Its prices were increased by about Rs 90 in the next four months. Prices were increased by Rs 50 per cylinder in March and then by Rs 3.50 in May.
