List of Fortune’s top 500 Indian companies released, RIL, IOCL and ONGC in top 3

This list has been released by Fortune India Company of Kolkata-based RP Sanjeev Goenka Group. The country’s largest bank SBI has been ranked fourth in the list.\



New Delhi: Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries (RIL) has ranked first among the top 500 companies operating in the country. According to a list released by Fortune India, the second place was Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and the third was Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). This list has been released by Fortune India Company of Kolkata-based RP Sanjeev Goenka Group. The country’s largest bank SBI has been ranked fourth in the list.

The country’s second largest retail fuel company Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) ranked fifth. Tata Motors is sixth on the list and Rajesh Exports is seventh on gold processing. The country’s largest IT services company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been ranked eighth and ICICI Bank (ICICI) ninth and Larsen and Toubro 10th.

RIL in top 100 in ‘Fortune Global 500’

Earlier, Reliance Industries (RIL) jumped 10 places in the World Ranking released in August to join the top 100 companies in the ‘Fortune Global 500’ list. Let us know that Reliance, which works in sectors like oil, petrochemicals, retail and telecom, was ranked 96th in this list of Fortune’s 2020 global companies. Reliance was the only Indian company to be included in Fortune’s Top 100 list. Prior to this, Reliance was ranked 99th in this list in 2012.

Public sector Indian Oil Corporation was ranked 151 in the Fortune Global 500, slipping 34 points. At the same time, the ranking of Oil and Natural Non Corporation (ONGC) was 190 places, slipping 30 places over the previous year. The ranking of the country’s largest bank, State Bank of India, was improved by 15 and was at 221st position. Other Indian companies to be included in this list were Bharat Petroleum at 309th, Tata Motors 337th and Rajesh Exports 462nd.
