Union Minister of State for Science and Technology (Independent Charge) Jitendra Singh made this statement. Singh said that technology was used in this campaign to make it easier for the elderly to receive pension. Also, many old rules that were hindering this process were also abolished. Crores of pensioners have benefited from the ease of pension process. Singh said, the Digital Life Certificate Campaign has revolutionized pension distribution by enabling elderly pensioners to verify their identity using face recognition technology, eliminating the need to physically visit bank branches.
He further said, significant progress has also been made in simplifying administrative processes, including the introduction of a single pension form, a unified fellowship application portal and the elimination of over 1,600 archaic rules. Addressing IAS trainees and civil servants at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, Singh pointed out several important reforms initiated to enhance transparency, accessibility and efficiency in public service delivery.
He said government recruitment exams are now conducted in 13 regional languages to promote inclusivity. The Union minister also spoke about plans to expand it to all 22 scheduled languages recognised by the Constitution. To ensure equal opportunity, interviews have been abolished for some Group B and C posts, which will promote merit-based selection. Apart from this, large-scale job fairs have been initiated to provide job opportunities and raise aspirations among the youth. IANS
