7.09 crore returns filed
The department said that 7.09 crore returns have been filed for the income earned in FY 2022-23. Of these, 6.96 crore ITR Verifications have been done, and 6.46 crore returns have been processed so far. These include 2.75 crore refund returns.
The Income Tax Department said, however, there are some cases in which the taxpayers are outstanding refund, but the previous demands have not been met.
