India-China Direct Flights: Direct flights between India and China are set to resume. The government announced this on Thursday (October 2). Meanwhile, India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has announced the resumption of flights to mainland China.
The airline will start daily non-stop flights between Kolkata and Guangzhou (CAN) from October 26, 2025. Direct flights between Delhi and Guangzhou will also start soon, subject to regulatory approval. IndiGo will operate these services using its Airbus A320neo aircraft.
IndiGo had already operated flights between India and China before the COVID-19 pandemic. Its prior experience and support from local partners will enable the airline to start these flights soon. As part of IndiGo’s rapid global expansion plan, the resumption of services to Guangzhou will further strengthen India’s international connectivity.
