There is anger not only among the passengers but also among the employees’ organizations regarding this. NE Railway Mazdoor Union General Secretary KL Gupta and North Eastern Railway Employees Union General Secretary Vinod Kumar Rai have demanded the resumption of general tickets and facilities available before the Kovid period in express trains as soon as possible.
Experts say that the board has banned the concessions so that at least people travel and stay safe. But the crowd in the trains is increasing continuously. During Chhath festival, one lakh people started moving at Gorakhpur Junction instead of 40. 70 pairs of express trains are running in North Eastern Railway.
Passenger trains running as special
At present, zero has not been removed from the special and number in the name of passenger trains (passenger trains). Passenger trains are still running as specials. Express fare is also applicable. 75 pairs of passenger trains are running in North Eastern Railway.
