Regarding the lower berth, the first priority in the Railways has been given to the elderly. Apart from this, people with disabilities are also given priority in the allocation of lower berths by the Railways. In fact, the lower berth quota is only for men of 60 years and above. At the same time, lower berths have also been fixed for women of 45 years and above.

Know what are the rules

Middle berth passengers can open middle berth only from 10 am to 6 am at night. Before opening the middle berth, the person of the lower berth has to give three notices. Also, if the middle berth is not closed by 6 am, then the passengers reserved at the lower berth can inform the TTE about it.
