Today Weather: The Meteorological Department has issued a comprehensive alert for the next 5 days regarding heavy rains, strong winds, thunderstorms and lightning in various parts of the country. Let’s know, how is the weather going to be today?

The second week of May is almost over and changes in the weather are being seen across the country. While heavy rains and thunderstorms are causing problems for people, some states have got relief from the heat after the rain. In such a situation, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a comprehensive alert for the next 5 days regarding heavy rains, strong winds, thunderstorms and lightning in various parts of the country. Especially in some parts of Northeast, Central India, Western India and South India, the weather may deteriorate significantly.

Heavy rain warning in Northeast India

According to the IMD, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds along with light to moderate rains in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya in the next 5 days. Heavy rains may occur in these states from 9 to 14 May. Also, very heavy rain is expected in Assam and Meghalaya on 11 and 12 May. Mizoram may also receive heavy rain on 12 May.

Danger of thunderstorm and lightning in central and north India

According to the IMD, the weather may also deteriorate in the central parts of the country and the states of North India. There is a warning of thunder squall with strong winds at a speed of 50-60 km / h in Chhattisgarh. Thunderstorms with lightning and winds at a speed of 40-50 km / h may occur in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Konkan-Goa, Maharashtra, North and South Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh. States like Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Assam, Meghalaya, East Madhya Pradesh are also likely to experience strong winds at a speed of 30-40 km / h and rain with thunder and lightning.

Dust storm alert in Rajasthan

According to the India Meteorological Department, dust storms may occur in western Rajasthan on 9 and 10 May, which may reduce visibility and affect life.

Special warning for central India

According to the IMD, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh may receive rain with winds of 40-50 km/h between 9 and 12 May. There is a possibility of strong thunderstorms in Chhattisgarh from 9 to 11 May and West Madhya Pradesh.

Thunderstorms in South India

According to the Meteorological Department, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry may receive rain with thunderstorms and strong winds on 8 and 9 May. Strong winds and lightning may occur especially in coastal areas.

Hot and humid weather will also trouble

According to IMD, hot and humid weather is expected in some areas of Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and Tamil Nadu. Uncomfortable conditions may arise with the increase in temperature.
